When You Need Answers, When You Need Solutions
Deciding to separate or divorce is one of the hardest decisions a person will ever have to make. Fear, sadness and even anger are common emotions. My degree in counseling lends itself to this area of the law. Active listening and compassion are important when you feel like your world is falling apart. Being able to recognize emotional road blocks is important.
My goal is to provide cost effective, creative solutions to difficult problems and zealous representation of my clients in both settlement negotiations and in the Courtroom. When choosing an attorney it is important to pick someone you trust and with whom you are comfortable. All families are unique; therefore, every divorce is different. There are no “cookie cutter, one-size-fits-all” solutions. What worked for your friend, your brother or your sister will not necessarily work for you.
There is no substitute for experience. I am able to advise you on the issues in your case drawing from my almost 30 years of experience in the area of Family Law. I find it is easier for me and less costly for my clients to have their case handled properly the first time rather than having to pay extra to try and fix a case after the fact. I do not have a set fee for cases. Retainers are quoted at the end of the initial interview. These quotes are based on the difficulty of the issues in each individual case and estimate of the time required. Fees are charged on an hourly basis.
This is a frightening time for our clients. My staff and I understand this, and we want to be there for you. Having experienced professionals to assist you every step of the way is important. Receiving prompt answers to your questions is important. We strive to return all calls and respond to all emails the same day. When that is not possible, we want to let you know the reason for the delay and schedule a time for you to speak to us when we are able to give you our undivided attention.
I give my clients an honest, straightforward and realistic assessment of their case based upon my experience as a Family Court attorney and over 10 years experience as a Certified Family Court Mediator. This is not always what a client wants to hear, but it is what they need to hear.
Preparation is key to settlement negotiations, mediation and litigation. I will be prepared, and I expect my clients to be prepared, as well. I expect you, as my client, to be an active part of the team. This is your life and your future. It is important that you understand the process and the possible outcomes. It is important that you ask questions.
Please contact our office for an appointment to discuss your case. The first 30 minutes of the Initial Consultation are at no charge. Thereafter, payment is expected at my normal hourly rate.
